Orange SPV-M500 Smartphone

Orange SPV M500 SmartphoneOrange SPV C550 and Orange SPV M500 are the latest smart phones launched by the Orange mobile phone network.

Orange SPV-M500 is a version of HTC’s ultra-compact PDA phone, ‘HTC Magician’. The M500 uses the same camera, but ships with 64MB of RAM. In place of the C550’s candybar phone form-factor, the M500 is styled like a compact PDA – it’s HTC’s ‘Magician’ – with a 2.8in, 240 x 320, 64,000-colour display.

It is a tri-band product, and incorporates Bluetooth. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 on a 416MHz Intel XScale PXA270 processor.

The SPV M500 mobile phone – PDA from Orange is particularly suitable for those who use a PDA (personal digital assistant) for business. In addition to mobile synchronisation with office data (e-mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes, etc.), the tiny all-rounder offers advanced voice command functionality.

The SPV M500 smartphone joins the successful Orange SPV range and is designed to succeed the established SPV M1000. Much effort has also gone into developing a considerably smaller PDA (58 x 108 x 18 mm, weight 150 g including rechargeable battery). The SPV M500 mobile phone / PDA is now slimmer and narrower than a packet of cigarettes. Another new feature is the integrated voice command software for telephone number dialling. Users no longer need to allocate a voice signature to each individual contact; the SPV M500 does that itself and will make the call in response to a clear voice command.

The SPV M500 is also the first PDA Smartphone from Orange with a 1.3 megapixel resolution integrated camera.
