CNET Reviews features an Acer TravelMate 8104WLMi review and writes:

The Acer TravelMate 8100 is a textbook example of a good mainstream laptop. It offers an exceptionally well-designed case that’s loaded with impressive parts–a fast Intel Pentium M processor, a wide-aspect display, and a DVD burner, to name a few. The TravelMate 8100 makes quick work of basic computing tasks and has respectable battery life. At $1,999 (as of August 2005), its somewhat high price is the single chink in its otherwise solid armor, but we think it’s a smart buy if you can afford it (or find it for less money).

The good things of the Acer TravelMate 8104WLMi laptop :Attractive, functional design; speedy performance; long list of connections; broad, wide-aspect screen; DVD burner. These features bring 6.2 points (rating: “Good”) on this review.

Nice design, lots of speed, impressive components: the mainstream TravelMate 8100 has it all, but you’ll pay a slight premium for it.

Also there is a Acer TravelMate 8104WLMi – Sonoma Notebook review from Trusted Reviews. Their opinion:

“A well designed, very fast notebook with a great screen and tonnes of features – what more could you ask for? The Acer TravelMate 8104 WLMi is an excellent machine and a complete bargain considering what you get. I’d be tempted to go for the slightly lower spec 8103 WLMi and save some cash, but ultimately it looks like the TravelMate 8100 series is going to be a hard act to beat.”

Also PCPro wrote about Acer TravelMate 8104WLMi (review):

Since the TravelMate 8104WLMi is the flagship of Acer’s Sonoma range, the company has made sure it’s a top performer. And with 1GB of RAM and a 100GB hard disk, you won’t have to worry about imminent upgrades either. It’s a touch pricey but worth considering for home or small-business buyers who don’t travel too often, but who need tight data security and can utilise the all-round power on offer.
Capable of rivalling many desktops in 2D and 3D performance, this widescreen notebook still keeps weight to an acceptable 3kg.
