Let’s see what CNET, Laptop Mag and PC Mag said about this Toshiba Portege laptop model.

Toshiba Portege R200 Reviews

Laptop Magazine:

‘Let’s put it this way: The R200, which marks the 20th anniversary of Toshiba’s first notebook, is so slim that there’s no room for the USB ports on the sides. They’re tucked in the back, along with the modem, Ethernet and VGA ports. That way the profile to this half-inch thin, 2.8-pound all-magnesium silver stunner doesn’t get spoiled. The design team did find room for an SD card slot on the left and PC Card slot on the right.

Things look just as nice from up front, with a nearly full-size keyboard, mirrored cutout around the touchpad (to check your teeth between meetings), and a one-touch button for outputting this ultraportable’s video signal when it’s time to give a presentation.

Pound for pound, the most striking ultraportable we’ve ever laid eyes or fingers on.

CNET Reviews posts a review on the Toshiba Portege R200 which receives a rating of ‘good’:

The Portege R200’s high-capacity battery will help the laptop last long past the four-hour mark.. Though it’s a tad expensive, the Toshiba Portege R200 is a well-designed ultraportable with enough speed and battery life for business travelers.

‘A CNET editor hit the nail on the head when she described the ultraportable Toshiba Portege R200 laptop as a “thing of beauty.” This featherweight laptop for frequent business fliers has a razor-thin, muted-gray case that weighs less than three pounds. The Portege R200 notebook adds plenty of function to its fine form, including a wide keyboard, a fingerprint reader, and a Wi-Fi on/off switch. It also offers sufficient speed and battery life for most business tasks. All in all, the Toshiba Portege R200 makes a smart, albeit a bit costly, addition to any mobile employee’s carry-on’.

The Toshiba Portégé R200 review from PC Magazine states: “The Toshiba Portégé R200 not only lightens your load, it gives you what you need to be immensely productive on the road. If you travel often and have to keep up with work back at the office, you’d be remiss not to check out this system. And let’s not forget, you’ll also be toting one of the sleekest systems around.”
